Hours of experimentation lead to lots of valuable insights when you’re pressing flower rosin. We’ve captured a few of our favorites to help you on your journey to ever-better pressing.

The rosin press kit is extremely handy in that it can what’s more be used with rosin flowers. If implemented properly, the rosin press can challenge the potency, and yield of other extract products. Well, there are several little tricks to achieving the best rosin yield in rosin press and we have carried out a lot of trial and error in order to get the best tricks. When it comes to hydraulic rosin press and pneumatic rosin press, you can be sure we have based our wide-ranging research on them. Below are some of the little tricks you need to know in order to achieve the best rosin yield in rosin press!

Quality is King, Followed By Freshness

This sounds like a no-brainer but time and time again we talk to customers who are pressing flower and are getting average results. Almost always it’s because they are squishing average flowers, which is perfectly fine, but if you want stellar results, you need stellar material. This doesn’t mean that you have to go purchase “Platinum” shelf buds at your local dispensary or fill your entire garden just with Gorilla Glue #4, but with rosin, your results are mostly predetermined in the garden if your press is up to par. Quality is also closely related to freshness, and you will often see your very best results when pressing flowers as soon after they are dried and cured as possible. The longer you wait, the darker it will be, so make sure to squish buds when they’re as fresh as possible.

Choose the BEST Humidity

If you are first-timers in pressing rosin and wonder why you get low yields, it’s because you used flowers that are too dry. Thus, using relative humidity comes in! Remember that relative humidity of your plant material plays a major role in your yield.

However, be careful! Because Relative Humidity can either makes or breaks your yields. The humidity and moisture content of your buds can bring a great impact to your flower rosin yields.

If your flower is very dry it will be like a sponge when the trichomes are liquefied, thus soaking up much of the rosin before it has a chance to escape. Lastly, take note of this important thing when pressing your flowers: You must ensure that the relative humidity content of your material is at least 55% to 62% for desirable results.

Rosin Filter Bags

If you are pressing flower, you don’t need to use a filter bag, but I’d recommend one anyway. For all other types of material, you’ll definitely want to use one.

Rosin press bags come in different sizes and different micron counts. The sizes are self-explanatory and you generally want to use a size that closely matches the size of the heat plates you are using.

Your best bet is to just use the filter bags made by the same manufacturer as your rosin press machine. That way you can guarantee they are perfectly compatible. Here are all the filter bags we carry.

The micron count refers to the size of the microscopic openings that allow the rosin to pass, but filter out the plant material. A smaller micron count means a smaller opening, resulting in purer, higher quality rosin. Naturally, this also means smaller yields.

Dabpress 6 Ton Personal Rosin Press

Dabpress leads the way when it comes to commercial rosin presses. We chose the Dabpress as our top model, because it is made for professional use and has features that make it ideal for a commercial operation.

The Dabpress is the perfect example of pressing power not being everything. It only generates 6 tons of pressure, but that is enough to give you the right psi with the right temperature and the right pressing time to maximize yields and quality, whether you are processing flower, hash, kief or trim.

Bubble Magic 5"x5" 1000 PSI Pneumatic Rosin Press

If you think manual is not your style, go for this excellent electric rosin press from Bubble Magic. Using its two plates, you can press a fair amount of material at a time for the maximum yield in a short time. The plates are made of solid aluminum for durability and effectiveness.

Moreover, the Bubble Magic can apply a pressure so that you get the most out of your starting material while keeping it clean and pure. It has a wide temperature range with maximum temperatures reaching 450 degrees Fahrenheit. This allows you more versatility in your extraction process. Whether you are an expert or beginner, anyone can operate this automatic rosin press machine.

There’s a front-facing touchscreen through which you can manage your press settings. Both plates are heated, which you can manage separately on the dual function touchscreen. There’s a timer for keeping track all your extracts’ timings and refining your skills. Along with a durable stainless steel build, the rosin press machine is also quite safe to use.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Working with high-quality flower is the most rewarding way to press and to dab from our humble perspective as rosin enthusiasts. We love the ability that flowers give us to preserve valuable terpenes while creating a truly unique expression of the cannabis plant.

As the knowledge that our community collectively holds continues to expand and accelerate, we’re excited by the constant experimentation and innovation that occurs. If something from your experience would lend itself to the tips and tricks above, we’d love to hear from you in the comments.
